(10/10 ´06) On the 14th of october a congress will be held in Bifröst (Iceland) by the Educational Department of Western Iceland along with the University of Bifröst. The congress will take a deep look at the culture of the western part of Iceland which has been very rich and variable ever since this part of the land was first settled. What does culture mean anyway? And what does it do for a community like ours here at the western part of Iceland? Those and other similar questions will be discussed at the congress. Painters and other artist will show their work during the congress: Páll Guðmundsson from Húsafell, Lára Gunnarsdóttir from Stykkishólmur, Snjólaug Guðmundsdóttir from Brúarland, Dýrfinna Torfadóttir from Akranes, Ingibjörg Ágústsdóttir from Stykkishólmur og Sigríður Erla Gunnarsdóttir which will introduce her studies on Búðardalsleir.
