Exhibition in Hönnunarsafn Íslands (Iceland´s designers museum) Dýrfinna took part in an exhibition held in Hönnunarsafn Íslands (Iceland´s designers museum). This museum was formerly opened by this exhibition on the 27th of may, the exhibition´s name is „From sea to design“. The theme of the exhibition is fish-skin and things that can be used from the ocean to design. Participants are both Icelandic and foreign, and some of them are well known worldwide, i.e. Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Dior.

Among guests on the opening were the present president Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson and a former president Vigdís Finnbogadóttir. The presidents really liked the show and tis new house the exhibition was being held in.

Katrín Júlíusdóttir (Minister of industry) opened the show and spoke about the importance of design and how big a part it has become in people´s lives. She was very happy that this museum had moved to this great house which suited the museum well.

Erling Ásgeirsson the headman of the Hönnunarsafn Íslands board held a speech. He spoke about the projects the museum takes part in, and also iterated the importance for the museum to preserve the historical part of design.

Hönnunarsafn Íslands will hold regular exhibitions from now on.

The museum will be open every day (except Mondays) from 12 to 17. Brand new coffee will be served in the charming atmosphere. The exhibition will stand all summer long.
